2026 Word of The Year
Choosing a Word of the Year: A Practice in Alignment
Every January, there’s an unspoken pressure to reinvent. New goals. New habits. New versions of ourselves that promise to be more productive, more disciplined, more everything.
But over the years, I’ve found that real growth doesn’t come from chasing more. For me, it comes from choosing with purpose.
That’s why instead of resolutions, I choose a word of the year. This isn’t a new idea, in fact I’ve been choosing a word of the year since about 2016/2017 during the girl boss era and the days when Rachel Hollis swept up the nation’s women by storm.
A word isn’t a checklist. It’s a compass.
It doesn’t demand perfection. Instead, it invites awareness.
Your word becomes a filter for decisions both big and small. It gently asks:
Does this align with who I’m becoming?
Is this worthy of my energy?
Does this move me closer to the life I want to live?
Some years the word is bold. Some years it’s soft. But it always reflects what I need more of, not what looks good on paper.
Choosing a word of the year is an act of self-trust. It’s deciding how you want to show up before the world tells you who to be.
As you think about your own word, don’t ask what sounds impressive.
Ask what feels honest.
Let your word anchor you when life gets loud.
My Word of the Year: Intentional
This year, my word is intentional.
I’m being intentional about time with loved ones. This year I’m protecting it, prioritizing it, and being fully present in it.
Intentional about what I put in my body. I’m choosing nourishment over convenience, care over autopilot.
Intentional about my marketing plan. I’m moving with strategy, clarity, and purpose rather than urgency or noise. 2025 was fast paced. Filled with the one and only goal of getting my name out there. Now I can see my movements through a top down perspective. My marketing strategy a sandbox ready to analyze.
2026 I will be Intentional about the knowledge I’m pursuing. Learning deeply, not endlessly. Applying, not just consuming. What will drive my business forward? Increase the experience of my clients? What can I intentionally offer them to make their time with me better?
In 2026 I am:
Intentional in my work.
Intentional in my rest.
Intentional in the life I’m building.
Not rushed. Not reactive.
Just deliberate.
This year isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what matters, on purpose, thoughtfully.
And if you are in the Jacksonville or surrounding areas and are feeling drawn to show up in your business or career this year, I hope you invite me to help you do just that. If you are ready document and strategically elevate your image, I’ll be here.
What is your word of the year? How do you plan on showing up in 2026?
